The best opportunities have always come through someone who knew your work: a former manager, a client, a colleague who says “you should meet her.” That kind of trust is hard to fake, and it never fit inside a profile.
Rebase puts it back at the centre. Roles are checked with company email or by colleagues who were there. Vouches are scarce and first-hand. Introductions go through people you both know. Companies are seen through the people who work with them, not anonymous stars. And when someone needs to know where you’ve really worked, one private link shows them.
The rest follows from that. If what’s on a profile is true, nobody needs to perform to be believed. If people reach you through someone you both know, your inbox doesn’t need selling. Being a professional doesn’t stop you being human, and a place for work shouldn’t ask you to pretend otherwise.
