No performing. Say what you’re working on the way you’d tell a colleague: no announcements, no “Agree?”, no lessons from a morning run. Just your work.

Writing about work, the usual way: “I’m humbled and honoured to announce”. Nope. “Agree?” Delete. “10 lessons my morning run taught me about B2B sales”. Absolutely not. “I was rejected 47 times. Here’s what I learned”. Nobody talks like this. “Thoughts?” Stop. Or just say it: “Shipped the new offline mode today. We tested it on a hospital ward with no signal, and it held.” Just your work. No performing. Being a professional doesn’t stop you being human. onrebase.com, free to join.
