Senior Engineer Molding Process (MX Department)
Role Purpose:
As a Senior Engineer Molding Process in MX Department , you will ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of manufacturing equipment and processes within the Plastic Injection Molding area. You will plan and execute preventive and reactive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment and process issues, and drive sustainable solutions to minimize unplanned downtime, improve process stability, and maintain optimal production yield.
The role will also serve as a technical expert for released molding equipment and processes, working closely with Industrial Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and external suppliers. From equipment commissioning and capability checks to process changes, calibration, documentation, and technical training, you will help ensure that equipment and processes remain safe, qualified, traceable, and ready to support stable production.
Main Accountabilities:
Ensure equipment reliability and availability by planning and executing preventive maintenance, repair, calibration, capability checks, and continuous improvement activities for injection molding and auxiliary equipment;
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and process issues through structured failure analysis and root-cause investigation, providing sustainable corrective actions and second-/third-level technical support before supplier escalation;
Maintain and optimize molding processes by monitoring process parameters, traceability data, buy-off and metering data, and supporting improvements to process stability, yield, and production performance;
Manage equipment changes and industrialization activities including ECN/ETN implementation, equipment duplication or modification, commissioning, buy-off, capability checks, and handover of new equipment from IE or Technology Development;
Coordinate maintenance resources and external suppliers by managing repair and maintenance activities, spare parts availability, service activities, calibration, and technical support to minimize production disruption;
Maintain technical standards and knowledge by updating Work Instructions, preventive maintenance plans, machine manuals, maintenance documentation, and providing training or re-qualification for relevant manufacturing personnel.
Drive equipment safety and cross-functional collaboration by ensuring compliance with equipment safety requirements and providing technical feedback and experience to IE, R&D, Value Engineering, Manufacturing, and other relevant stakeholders;
Role Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or above in Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering , or a related technical discipline;
Business-fluent English communication skills in both written and spoken English; knowledge of ERP systems and manufacturing order management is an advantage;
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in equipment/process maintenance or a similar engineering role, with hands-on experience operating and maintaining Plastic Injection Molding machines; experience with ARBURG and/or FANUC is preferred;
Solid knowledge of Injection Molding processes , including process parameters, material flow characteristics, product defects/failures, mold maintenance or mold making, and troubleshooting of auxiliary equipment such as feeders, dryers, and water supply systems;
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with practical experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies and statistical data analysis; good proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel;
